HIAS provides legal services and representation to asylum seekers and others seeking humanitarian protection in Washington DC and Maryland suburbs. HIAS represents two groups of individuals: (1) asylum seekers who are professionals, artists, scholars or scientists, and (2) children and their families from Central America who are fleeing violence.
